Multi-lingual Page Management There are millions of websites on the Internet that are all in English language but there are billions of people on the earth that speak in a different language and are not familiar with English language. So, having a website that provides the content in a language rather than English is sometimes a necessity. In most cases, you may consider one language, usually English as the basis for your web site. In this case, you assume most of the visitors use English as they enter automatically and visitors would see small icons on the web page (usually flag motifs) that lets them navigate to their preferred language. As the client navigates around the site, the site editor will check if the page they have chosen is available in their language; if not the default English version will be displayed. For you to start a multi-lingual website, it is vital to consider some tips before starting to design. How will multi-lingual content be managed and updated over time once the site is developed? How will the multi-lingual content relate to marketing the site in search engines such as Google? Discuss with your web designer. |
